GOLDILOCKS AND THE THREE BEARS



Title: Goldilocks and the three bears

Recommended age group: Level 1.
This play is written for twenty students.

Characters:

Goldilocks
Mummy Bear
Daddy Bear
Baby Bear
 4 Narrators
4 Chorus

Synopsis

Goldilocks was a little naughty girl who one day entered in a Bear’s house (when the bears were not there) and tried the mummy’s and daddy’s porridge  (she didn’t like them) and ate the baby’s porridge.  Then she felt tired and tried daddy’s and mummy’s chair (but she didn’t like them) and sat on baby’s chair, but the chair was broken. She was tired and looked for a  bed.
In the bedroom she found three beds. She tried mummy and daddy’s bed but she didn’t like them and she slept in baby’s bed.
When the three bears came back home found the mess in the house; the empty baby’s bowl, the baby’s chair broken and a girl in baby’s bear bed.
Goldilocks opened her eyes and saw the bears, she was very scared and run out of the house.

Characters descriptions and objectives.

Goldilocks: She is a little blonde girl. She is wearing a blue dress and a blue bow on her hair.  She is naughty and doesn’t respect things from other people.
Mummy bear: She is wearing brown clothes and a bear mask. She is wearing a red bow on her hair. She is happy and funny.
Daddy bear: He is wearing brown clothes and a bear mask. He is serious and never smiles.
Baby bear: He is short. He is wearing brown clothes and a bear mask. He is sad.
Narrators: Narrator one is wearing blue clothes, Narrator two is wearing red clothes, Narrator three is  wearing green clothes and narrator four is wearing black clothes. They use gestures and body language to explain what they say.
Chorus: (Each chorus is formed by three students) There are four chorus, each one goes with one narrator and repeat the last words that the narrator tells. They are wearing the same clothes’ colour as their narrator. They use gestures and body language.

Scene Breakdown

Scene 1
Scene set in bear’s house. Narrator one presents the three bears (Chorus one repeat the last words). Mummy bear puts the porridges on the table and daddy bear says that they are very hot and it is better to go for a walk.
The three bears go out of the stage. (Mummy bear singing and smiling at baby bear).
Scene 2
Scene set in bear’s house. Goldilocks enters the house and tries the porridges (Narrator explains what she is doing and chorus repeat the last words). Goldilocks talks about the porridges using different adjectives (too hot, too cold).She eats baby’s porridge.
Then Goldilocks sits on the three chairs (Narrators and chorus explain what she is doing). Goldilocks use different adjectives and describes the chairs (too hard, too soft) and sits and breaks baby chair.
Goldilocks sees the beds (Narrators and chorus explain what she is doing).
She tries the beds using different adjectives (too high, too low) and she sleeps in baby’s bed.
Scene 3
Scene set in bear’s house .The three bears come back home. (Narrators and chorus explain what are the bears doing).
The three bears talk about their porridges, baby bear cries.
The bears talk about their chairs, baby bears cries.
The bears talk about their beds, baby bear cries and points to Goldilocks. 
Goldilocks wakes up and runs out of the house.

Additional:
If you have got more children in class you can add more students in each chorus.
